J ob Description**:


The position primarily supports a key segment of our Resources Industries portfolio in Australia, working as part of a global diverse team driving our people strategy.

This position will report to the Human Resources Manager based in Newcastle.


Principle duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities vary, but may include any of the following:

  • Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team within the Resource Industries group
  • Deploy strategic HR and diversity and inclusion initiatives to improve department results.
  • Ability to lead local and global projects on people matters.
  • In partnership with leaders, provide talent development solutions to improve employee engagement, leadership acumen and business results.
  • Assist managers in addressing individual and organisational effectiveness issues.
  • Partner with our talent attraction team and hiring managers to source top talent

Qualifications:


  • University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Prior working experience in human resources function
  • Must be proficient in the full MS office suite
  • Labour law and regulations governing the Human Resources function.
  • Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, make decisions and take measured risks using available data as well as insight.
  • Proven ability to maintain highlevel of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Experience with Workday, Teams and SharePoint is desired or other similar people management systems.
