Real Community Services was established in January 2006 and now provides thousands of personal support hours per week to hundreds of people with disability, acquired brain injury or neurological conditions by focusing on empowering and improving their lifestyles.

About the Role
We are seeking support workers to join our motivated and supportive team in a casual capacity.

A rewarding and challenging role, as a disability support worker, you will be instrumental in providing support for our participants and making a positive impact to their quality of life.

You may be supporting someone with daily tasks within their own home or a SIL house or on community access support such at medical appointments, social outing, shopping or family visits.

Our participants may have complex behavioural needs, high physical support needs, complex mental health and mobility issues.

It is important that you have an understanding of how to support participants in a way that fosters their independence and works towards their personal goals.


Shifts available from Mon - Sunday. AM, PM and Sleep Over shifts.

We currently have shifts available in East Brisbane, Clayfield and Indooroopilly.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Personal care: dressing, toileting, and showering
  • Domestic duties including meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and cleaning
  • Assist Participants with medications
  • Hoisting
  • High intensity support activities
  • Behaviours of Concern Support
  • CAS

Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience supporting clients with disabilities
  • Experience in managing continence aid
  • Relevant nationally recognised qualification highly desirable
  • Must have a QLD driver's licence and own reliable transport
  • Current Paid employee Blue Card (or willing to obtain before employment)
  • Current Paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance (or willing to obtain before employment)
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain before employment)
  • NDIS 'Worker Orientation' module (or willing to complete before employment)
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Smart phone with internet access
  • Remain calm under pressure, identify risk factors and make sound decisions.
  • Two current (within the past 2 years) professional references from a supervisor will be required

Experience with Behaviours of Concern, Mental Health, Intellectual Impairment, Mobility & Epilepsy is advantageous.
