We are looking for an energetic, well-organised

Marine Assurance Manager with appropriate industry operational experience. An excellent communicator who is experienced in maritime operations with strategic visionary and sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment with a strong operational focus. Being task as well as project-orientated with significant offshore and marine consultancy-related experience with a keen interest and knowledge of the offshore industry including, energy, renewables and maritime markets.


What you will be doing
:

As our

Marine Assurance Manager, you will be working with a dedicated team of master mariners, naval architects and marine engineers. You will also support and ensure that the Australasia marine Operations are well coordinated to ensure that all enquiries and subsequent support to our clients are conducted in a timely and efficient manner to maximise profitability and performance. As such the staff role will be to conduct frequent site visits offshore and on vessels, to conduct inspections, audits, surveys or client/marine supervising as part of worldwide energy-related projects

You will also help to support the implementation of the business management plans for the region.

The key dimensions of the role will be:

  • Report to the Shipping Manager -Australia -New Zealand & collaborate with the ABL group
  • To familiarize yourself with all aspects of ABL Maritime services and key deliverables.
  • Working with the Australia team including the East Coast Manager and Maritime Services Manager.
  • Attendance offshore as marine warranty surveyor during offshore construction projects.
  • Attendance on site and the provision of approval for towage, loadout and transportation activities.
  • Carry out shipboard FMEA proving trials and formulate detailed reports by IMCA guidelines.
  • Attend annual DP trials as required and document them in the associated report.
  • Acting as client representative during offshore installation works and activities.
  • Attending and contributing to risk analysis (both quantitative and qualitative) for offshore operations.
  • Conduct surveys of vessels including OVID, IMCA eCMID and MWS suitability inspections.
  • Attend to P & I casualties and H & M claims to determine the nature, extent and cause of damage. Estimate costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for Clients.
  • Provide marine support to clients in all areas of offshore marine operations.
  • Complete the QA of deliverables, technical reports, procedures, and marine studies.
  • Provide Marine support to the APAC team on Condition and Suitability Surveys as well as MWS projects.
  • Work with clients, shipyards, and other marine professionals to coordinate repairs and modifications.
  • Keep abreast of changes in maritime law and regulation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all surveys conducted.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards when conducting surveys.
  • Implement and continuously improve work processes to increase efficiency and ensure excellence in delivery.
  • Maintain own level of billable utilisation above 60%.
The position will be based in Perth

  • Australia reporting to the Shipping Manager with the flexibility to working hours, willing to travel including offshore, work within a variety of time zones, and maintain chargeable work.

What we are looking for
:


To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in previous consultancy experience from a similar role with exposure to marine warranty, marine consultancy, vessel suitability inspections and IMCA eCMID/OVID accreditation is a distinct advantage.

You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills and the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.


In addition, you will have:

  • Master Mariner, or relevant degree with significant offshore and marine consultancyrelated experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience within the Offshore Energy Industry with some management experience in marine survey and consultancy.
