Organisation:


Brightside recruitment has partnered with a specialist not for profit organisation that works across the mental health sector and provides support to people who live with complex mental health issues.


Role:


This is an Identified role. The purpose of the role is to lead the codesign, development, implementation and delivery of targeted programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as ensuring existing programs and services are inclusive, culturally appropriate and accessible. You will also be fostering effective and mutually beneficial referral partnerships with government departments, community organisations, community-controlled organisations and NGO agencies. This is a newly created role and will require an experienced person to review how each program is working and make changes if required. You will be supported by an experienced leadership team and CEO. The role will require some travel to regional areas and interstate.


Essential Criteria:


  • Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, nursing, occupational therapy (or relevant Allied Health qualification) OR equivalent mix of minimum relevant diploma and extended work experience, supplementary training and qualifications.
  • Relevant mental health work experience post qualification
  • Experience in a relevant Management role
  • Current National Police and Working with children check
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture
  • This is an identified position; applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is
    authorised by section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.
