    Meeting the needs of Melbourne's expanding population

    CPB Contractors worked with Melbourne Water to deliver the Western Treatment Plant – Treatment Capacity Increase Project in a 50:50 joint venture with fellow CIMIC Group company, UGL.

    The design and construct contract generated a combined revenue to the joint venture partners of approximately $127 million over a four year period.

    This significant project supported Melbourne Water in meeting the needs of Melbourne's expanding population, now and into the future, and it is an example of the complementary capabilities of the CIMIC Group and UGL.

    We were pleased to contribute our world-class design and construction techniques and innovative environmental solutions to deliver the second stage of the upgrade to the Western Treatment Plant for Melbourne Water, and to build a cost-efficient asset of ongoing value.

    The project involved the design and construction of a new sewage treatment facility with a hydraulic capacity of 140ML/day. The new treatment facility was designed to integrate with the existing Western Treatment Plant, which is located in Werribee.

    Construction commenced in early 2017, with commissioning occurring at the end of 2018, following which the joint venture undertook operations and maintenance of the plant until the end of 2020.

    Currently under construction by CPB Contractors, Brisbane's Cross River Rail project will feature 14 separate artworks across its four stations, created by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artists who are either born or residing in Queensland.

    CPB Contractors' construction of Sydney Metro's Hunter Street Station is gaining momentum as excavation reaches 30% completion.

    CPB Contractors has achieved a key project milestone on Transport for NSW's M12 West Motorway project, successfully installing all 84 bridge girders for its Bridge 5.

    CPB Contractors, as part of Transport for NSW's M6 Stage 1 delivery team, has reached a milestone spend of $30 million with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers, businesses and employment. The milestone also marks a significant project achievement, exceeding its original spend target by 15%.

    CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors, has been selected by the NSW Government to deliver the design, early works and delivery phases for the redevelopment of the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital at Camperdown in Sydney.

    The Queensland Government's new Bundaberg Hospital project has reached a noteworthy milestone, with CPB Contractors' project team commencing its final design phase. This important planning stage will refine the new hospital's blueprint and include consultation with key stakeholders.

    While constructing an underground motorway in Sydney, CPB Contractors, as part of Transport for NSW's M6 Stage 1 project, is inspiring the next generation of industry professionals through its project-led school engagement program.

    CPB Contractors, in a joint venture with United Infrastructure, is making significant progress on the delivery of the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Surface, Civil and Alignment Works (SCAW), with nearly one-third of the 3.5-kilometres of elevated viaduct now complete.

    CPB Contractors' construction of the Cross River Rail underground station at Albert Street has reached a major milestone, with the construction of the 220-metre platform and mezzanine level at Albert Street station underneath Brisbane's CBD now complete.

    Excited students from Old Noarlunga Primary School in South Australia got a taste of the construction world thanks to a visit from the team delivering the Department for Infrastructure and Transport's Fleurieu Connections Alliance project, one of the state's largest road projects.
