About the client:

Federal government agency tasked with making life easier, accessible, and equitable for thousands of individuals and families across Australia.

Our client is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join their busy team for a temporary assignment until April 2025.

About the role:

As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will Investigate and resolve outstanding payment requests that have been rejected through the system

In addition, you will:

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment enquiries
Process manual payments to providers and clients.
Work to resolve payment issues, guided by legislation, policies and standards, and Payments Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Consistently meet the team and individual work resolution targets.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Previous experience in a Payments, Bookkeeping, Accounting roles or similar field
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build productive and working relationships with key stakeholders.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
