Austin Health delivers a full range of leading-edge clinical services, including several state-wide services (liver transplant, spinal cord injury service, respiratory support service, child inpatient mental health service).
The Victorian Spinal Cord Service (VSCS) provides acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community outreach services for people who sustain traumatic spinal cord injuries in Victoria, Tasmania and Southern NSW.
The VSCS is 1 of only 6 such specialist services in Australia and forms part of Victoria's state trauma system.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Patient Service Assistant. This is a permanent full-time position at 38 hours per week.Ward 3 North as the 24 bed Acute and Readmission Unit located at Austin Health provides treatment for:
- Patients in the acute phase after injury.
- Patients who develop complications of spinal cord injury requiring rehospitalisation.
- Patients requiring elective procedures.
- Four of these beds are at times utilised for nonspinal patients to assist with Austin Health's bed management and patient flow.
Perform the duties of this position efficiently to the standards of the department, including participating in Austin Health performance appraisal program.
Patient Service Assistants as part of a Ward/Unit/Department based team will assist in the delivery of patient care services through the competent provision of defined services.
