Due to ongoing demand for their products nationally, they are needing to hire an experienced Production Manager to effectively guide and manage one of their specialised manufacturing teams based in the South Western suburbs of Brisbane.

The Position...


This role reports to the General Manager, and will be actively engaged in production planning and preparation, continual optimisation of manufacturing process, as well as staff development & training.

Further, this role will involve effective management of machinery used in the manufacturing process. Knowledge and experience in optimal manufacturing processes, such as lean manufacturing techniques would be highly advantageous.

You will be responsible for

  • Planning, organizing, and directing the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets
  • Initiating plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and ERP systems
  • Implementation of manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure the company's strategic initiatives are achieved
  • Managing spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume
  • Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control programs
  • OH&S compliance and implementation
To be considered for this position you will need:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar high production role, preferably in Lean Manufacturing environment (essential)
  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline and/or manufacturing management (desirable)
  • Ability to lead and work with team to achieve results
  • Ability to work under pressure while motivating others and meeting tight deadlines
  • Above average Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) with previous experience using Inventory Management/ERP system
  • Ability to read and understand drawing schematics with some exposure to measuring & quoting
  • Ability to review processes and develop strategies to improve efficiencies
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with attention to detail and excellent problem solving capabilities
  • Previous experience in the Industrial Packaging industry dealing with timber pallets, boxes and crates will be considered an advantage
