An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our Echo team while one of our staff members is on Maternity leave.
Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses for the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide.
Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.
We have a full time Echo educator whose job is to assist with education and training for all staff, there are weekly teaching sessions for staff to attend.
This Maternity Leave position if for 16 hours per week. We are happy to negotiate flexible working hours across the week commencing Mid -late January.
To be successful in this role you must be a fully accredited Echo physiologist.
Key responsibilities include:
- Communicates information and expectations in a way that builds effective and collaborative working relationships with others
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of principles of cardiac technology and the results generated.
- Independently perform high quality recordings requiring extensive expertise and use appropriate judgement when acting on the findings for Echocardiogram
- Assist the Cardiologist with Transoesophageal, Treadmill/Pharmacological stress echocardiograms
- Continually seeks ways to improve systems and procedures
- Reflects on practice in line with Austin Health values and applies these when interacting with others
