An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to join our Welshpool-based team.

This role could suit an experienced fitter with a rail plant background who is looking to take the next step in their career.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage, coordinate, and lead a team of up to 20 employees undertaking a scope of work/s in relation to labour, productivity, materials, subcontractors, plant and equipment and ensure the planned objectives are being met at the Welshpool Rail Plant Maintenance Facility.
  • Manage and execute the planned maintenance (PM), breakdowns and unplanned work against the plan.
  • Deliver the scope of works within budget in accordance with John Holland principles and values.
  • Responsible for the commissioning and calibration of plant.
  • Liaise with customers and other external stakeholders on maintenance, technical and logístical matters.
  • Manage Apprentices and the ongoing requirements of their training program.
  • Responsible for effective processing of maintenance reports and timesheet records for all supervised staff.
  • Coordinate the mobilisation and demobilisation of plant and equipment for Rail Maintenance facility at Welshpool.
  • Responsible for delivering a quality product or service to customers and stakeholders by meeting equipment manufacturers and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the implementation of site safety, quality and environment controls, identify and assess potential risks for the specific scope of work/s.

To be successful you will have:

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Trade (essential)
  • Rail Plant Equipment experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Technical competency or detailed level of understanding in area that role is supervising.
  • Leading Hand experience and proven management experience of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour (Desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years previous Mobile Mechanical/Electrical experience in a similar role.
