We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
Network Contract Management Team Leader at our Perth Head Office, on a full-time permanent basis.


Your role in action


The Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS) Area is responsible for the preparation and management of the SPS program deployment, including emergency response requirements.

This includes co-ordinating and ensuring that the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the SPS units are completed to the relevant standards.

These activities are to be completed to meet the high standards of customer satisfaction, product quality, program delivery and operation.


In this newly created role of Network Contract Management Team Leader, you will be accountable for leading and developing a team of professionals responsible for the optimal delivery of contracts of significant value/volume, and complexity that form part of Western Power's SPS program.

This role is critical to ensuring their team members are clear on expectations and are accountable for contract delivery that has a direct impact on Western Power's business operations and/or Customer outcomes.


This team is responsible for the management of contracts to ensure all obligations and deliverables are achieved and the requirements of Western Power's Contract Management Framework are met.

This team has a direct impact on Western Power's business operations and/or Customer outcomes by being responsible for the commercial, schedule and risk of contract(s) delivery.


What you'll bring
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • Degree qualified in Law or a Legal discipline, Engineering, Business or a Commercial discipline, OR trade-based qualifications coupled with significant, broad and deep Contract Management / Commercial experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical knowledge and experience, coupled with strong problemsolving skills
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated people management skills with an ability to motivate and lead successful teams
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of budgeting/finance systems including monitoring and control
  • Knowledge and experience in contract law and Australian Standard contracts.
  • Strong customer and commercial focus
  • Ability to deal with pressure, ambiguity and change and to adapt to and manage different situations
  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, and motivating people and changing behaviour
  • A thorough knowledge of the external contracting market and contract governance and probity
