We are now looking to engage a highly motivated professional to fill the role of our Family and Community Resource Liaison Officer.


About the Role


Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager you will complement the clinical care team and work collaboratively with the allied health and psychosocial team to coordinate and provide non-clinical support for children and their families.


Specifically in this role you will:

  • Support children and their families who are either inpatients or outpatients of the Children's Cancer Centre services through play, recreation, social activities and respite
  • Liaise with Monash Health Foundation and charity/philanthropic organisations to coordinate toy/craft/play donations
  • Facilitate fundraising/publicity events and visiting programs within the CCC
  • Foster optimal relationships between the Children's Cancer Centre and these organisations and

About You
To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate that you satisfy the following mandatory criteria:

  • Hold a qualification suitable to this role
  • for example: relevant health qualifications, early childhood certificate, play/art/music qualifications, creative arts, and fundraising/public relations
  • Superior communication skills that are cognisant of clinical circumstances
  • Strong team player skills that support a child/family focused approach to work Creative and flexible approaches
You are a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional who has a family focused approach to work.

You are looking to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team and have skills and experience that would enable you to contribute to the non-clinical support of children with cancer and haematological conditions and their families.

You would be working 2 days a week.

The MCH is a state of the art facility.

This role offers you the opportunity to work collaboratively as a member of the Children's Cancer Centre team to provide non-clinical support services for children with cancer or haematological conditions and their families.

Working collaboratively with both the Children's Cancer Centre team and the Monash Health Foundation you will be help coordinate both in kind and financial donations that support the Children's Cancer Centre service.

Your role as liaison with philanthropic organisations and donors is critical within the Children's Cancer Centre's team.
