About the Role


Reporting to the CEO initially, the
Demand & Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for the management of the demand & supply planning function and team.

You will review, set, improve, and embed demand and supply planning systems and processes ensuring accurate and efficient planning across our outdoor and industrial businesses.

The Demand & Supply Planning Manager role will include (but will not be limited to):

  • To manage the supply, ordering and purchasing process for the business, including the timetable for deliverables and meeting schedule (SOP meetings) to facilitate the development of the purchase / ordering plan
  • To prepare, analyse and challenge the historical product sales data, working with the Commercial Manager and Sales team to understand historical sales demand provided by the sales organisation
  • To prepare, analyse and present demand planning information at the SOP meetings to assist with the preparation of the proposed inventory demand plan
  • To update and review previous purchase plans and actual sales performance, assessing significant discrepancies and work with the Commercial Manager and Sales Teams to implement improvements
  • To assist in the education & roll out of the demand planning tool (Netstock) to improve, and streamline the overall capabilities and efficiencies of the demand and supply function
  • To provide sound reasoning (based on evidential data) relating to proposed nonforecasted large sales and its impact on stock availability
  • To oversee and manage the process to ensure the ERP system accurately reflects the latest available information from the forwarder shipping reports and feedback from China Team on expected due delivery dates
  • To oversee and manage the process with freight forwarders for container deliveries, unpack/loadup, pick up and logistics partners this includes managing the relationship with those partners
  • To proactively coach, mentor and manage direct reports (2 direct reports Demand Planner & Shipping Coordinator)
  • To work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including product, sales, marketing, and warehouse teams across outdoor and industrial businesses

About You
As the successful Demand & Supply Planning Manager, you will be/have:

  • Bachelor of Business (Logistic and Supply Chain) or similar tertiary qualifications (ideal not mandatory)
  • Solid experience in a demand & supply planning role within a wholesale (domestic/international) environment
  • Solid experience in leading a demand, supply and shipping function
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and leading demand & supply team
  • Experience in working with/managing Freight Forwarder relationships
  • Able to work autonomously with little guidance, and great at disseminating & delegating tasks, plans and information to direct reports
  • Experience in NetSuite or related system including specific demand and supply planning systems (Netstock preferable)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
