About the branch


The Corporate Services branch provides critical strategic and operational support services to ensure the continual success and advancement of the VGSO.

Balancing an appreciation of the complexities and nuances of the public sector, along with the requirements of operating in a competitive legal services environment, Corporate Services delivers proactive, effective and efficient services to VGSO's internal and external clients.

Functions within Corporate Services include but are not limited to; Finance, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), People and Culture, Knowledge Management, Business Support and Administration and Business Development and Marketing.


About the role


We are seeking a Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) Advisor to provide responsive and high quality business development, marketing and administrative support to the BD&M team.


Our BD&M team is responsible for managing client events and seminars, the project management of tenders, reviewing and editing content of marketing materials and strategic planning for practice groups, branches and individuals.

Reporting to the Business Development & Marketing Manager, the primary objectives of this role will be to:

  • Support and drive the VGSO's Client Relationship Framework;
  • Project manage the coordination of tender responses;
  • Assist with the implementation of VGSO strategic initiatives;
  • Contribute to the development of BD&M activities and client experience programs;
  • Provide support to the ongoing developments of the VGSO's website and intranet;
  • Assist in development, layout, and proofreading of client communications; and
  • Offer support to organisation with branding documents.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing, communications and business development strategies, ideally within a professional services environment (although not essential);
  • Strong written skills, including an ability to write with impact;
  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to take initiative, plan and prioritise; and
  • Experience using content management tools and Customer Relationship Management systems.
