About the role


The Respiratory Outpatient Enrolled Nurse supports the Registered Nurse in the provision of person-centred care consistent with regulatory and statutory requirements.

Practice at this level is from novice to proficient Enrolled Nurse practice.

Employees at this level work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, however at all times the Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing nursing care.

The Respiratory Outpatient area provides respiratory patient assessment and treatment in an Outpatient setting to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions including Asthma, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease and Lung Cancer.


The CALHN Heart & Lung Program, provides nursing services within current nursing models of care focussing on patient centred acute inpatient services both emergency and elective; including cardiac and respiratory diagnostics and interventional and electrophysiology procedures and Cardiac & Respiratory Rehabilitation and Heart & Respiratory Failure and outpatients Services.

The Heart & Lung nursing service extends to management of the Cardiothoracic Surgery wing and preoperative service.


Qualifications

  • Enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
