This position will be Oversee and ensure the efficient and cost effective operation of the depot, and movement of freight inter, intra state and local and delivery of interstate freight within the state. The role will directly report to the State Manager . - Organise the planning, leading and control of all production and yard operational service effectively in order to meet requirements
- Perform monthly P&L reporting, investigate, and articulate the variance
- Provide day to day support, mentoring and leading including development of team members
- Promote a continuous improvement service culture within the branch and implement quality principles
- Control the total labour force except for the office staff by working with the various supervisors
- Control the hiring of casual labour to match the level of activity
- Control the work of any sub-contractors working on site
- Ensure Quality System and total quality management is implemented and understood for all aspects of service, workmanship, procedures, work instructions and conformance to company standards
- Ensure the timely processing of vehicles and liaise with clients and client liaison officers to assure this
- Review all measuring equipment calibration records and arrange for re-testing/calibration as required
- Supervise the operation of the parts store to ensure adequate stock levels and quarantine of defective parts
