Permanent Part-Time Telephonist - minimum 1x 8hr shift per week. Shift start times will consist of 0600hrs, 0830hrs, 0930hrs 1400hrs & 2200hrs. Dependant on the needs of a 24/7 Roster.


What you'll be doing
Providing customer service as a Switchboard Operator at the Children's Hospital Westmead.

Can also be responsible for providing frontline customer service in a receptionist role while undertaking a variety of administrative duties.


  • Demonstrated ability to work in a busy and high pressured environment with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide efficient use of Alcatel system switchboard console and paging system or willing to learn.
  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft Office suite programs and the ability to learn complex relevant health systems
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and follow protocol.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
