About the Company


I'm representing a worldwide developer and owner of renewable energy assets, with an impressive portfolio already in operation within Australia.

They have projects already in development in WA and are now looking for a State Leader to be based in Perth and manage the operation.


About the Role


The role is largely focused on targeting the mining / resource giants to assist in decarbonizing their sites by providing renewable solutions.

On top of that, you will be managing existing developments in WA whilst still exploring new wind/PV/BESS opportunities.

You will help establish and manage the Perth based development team, and will provide strategic development input including commercial, environmental and planning matters to guide projects from site identification through to investment.

You'll also manage external stakeholder relations to ensure that projects progress through to construction phase.


Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage a team of development professionals in WA
  • Responsible for the development of renewable energy projects through to investment stage
  • Identification and shortlisting of prospective sites
  • Assess and project manage potential development and site acquisition opportunities
  • Delivery of planning and environmental approvals processes with the assistance of the Environment & Planning team
  • Negotiation of agreements to secure land for projects and easements for grid connection assets
  • Build relationships with decision makers within federal, state and local governments, regulators, transmission grid operators, potential business partners

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification (commerce, business management, planning, science or engineering etc)
  • Proven track record in developing large scale renewable projects (wind, solar PV, BESS) including exposure to all aspects of project development
  • Track record of building, leading and managing a multidisciplinary team, preferably in the renewable energy or power generation industry
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate successful project development outcomes with key government and nongovernment stakeholders
