Position Information:

St Ives High School is a coeducational, comprehensive high school located on the Upper North Shore of Sydney. We have current enrolment of approximately 1530 general enrolments. Forty percent of students are from a non-English speaking background. We are a dynamic, growing school with a strong academic tradition and co-ordinated approach to student and staff wellbeing. We have a specific focus on welfare; explicit teaching; and mentoring and coaching.

The school has a hearing support unit; a long-standing gifted and high potential program; and we are held in high regard in the community with high parental expectations of student involvement and achievement.

Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach English Years 712, and approval to teach or willingness to teach English Extension 1 and
Demonstrated commitment to growth in teaching practice and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate innovative, differentiated programs, resources and assessments that contribute to a culture of high expectations.
Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively within an experienced, cohesive faculty on whole school and faculty initiatives that meet the learning needs of a diverse range of students, including public speaking and debating.
Welldeveloped classroom management skills to establish effective routines and structures that support the wellbeing and learning of students
