Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing

The primary role of the Medical Radiation Practitioner (MRP) Level 2 within the Imaging Department is to provide high quality Diagnostic Medical Imaging service in accordance with National registration, professional practices, standards and policies of the Imaging Department specific to Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD).

Providing 24/7 shift work, and up to 50% of its shifts are overnight shifts.

The primary goal of this position is to provide general imaging services which includes modalities such CT, Cath lab, OT, Mobile, Fluoroscopy and MRI screening when it becomes available.

Essential Criteria:


  • License: Eligible for NSW EPA Radiation Licence iA1
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science
  • Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Registration: Eligible for and registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria:


  • Demonstrated experience in general radiography including but not limited to general and trauma, operation suite, mobile, dental and fluoroscopy.
  • Experience working in a busy hospital environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve clinical situations and to develop effective solutions.
