The Opportunity

Provide project management support and guidance for the efficient day to day operation, maintenance, and upgrade of road assets on the local, regional and state roads network.


Key Accountabilities
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

  • Coordinate and prioritise the delivery of routine and reactive maintenance and upgrades for Roads, Stormwater and associated civil assets owned or managed by Yass valley Council.
  • Relay and monitor comprehensive knowledge of road construction and maintenance labouring activities
  • Provide advice and recommendation on the continuous improvement of civil maintenance program.
  • In consultation with Manager Roads Delivery, coordinate contractor engagement and performance.
  • Assist on the provision of effective financial management of the section's budget.
  • Maintain and promote Council's culture of customer service.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement in performance, safety and quality.
  • Conduct internal audits and evaluate work crews in regard to performance, safety and quality
  • Actively participate in the use and development of construction and maintenance strategies, plans and principles.

Essential Requirements

  • A Certificate IV in a relevant field and/or a minimum of four years' experience in the delivery of public works and infrastructure.
  • General Construction (White) Card.
  • A current class 'C' driver's licence.
  • A Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plans (PWZTMP) Card or the demonstrated ability to obtain one.

Conditions

  • Permanent full time
  • 35hour week with a 9day fortnight (RDO)
  • A leaseback vehicle may be available under Council's Policy.
