The Role


Mercy Community have a position available for an Education and Vocation Practitioner to join our Families and Young People team.

This is a Permanent Part-time position offering 45 hours a fortnight based in Ipswich. This role is responsible for providing education and/or vocation support to young people in out-of-home care.

This role will support young people to reach their own educational and psycho-social goals, including engagement with mainstream education, vocational training and/or employment.


To be eligible for this position you will require (Key Selection Criteria):

  • You will hold 3 or 4 year tertiary qualification in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against Whooping Cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable of exemption is provided.
  • You must hold a current Queensland Provisional Green or Open Driver's License
  • You must hold a positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.

This position offers a competitive annual salary of $35.77 to $42.25 plus superannuation depending on qualifications and experience. You will also have the opportunity to increase your take-home pay by salary sacrificing and other benefits.
