Description

The Learning Designer will support teaching staff across the University with practical assistance focused on the design, development and evaluation of online and blended learning, and the development of new approaches to learning, teaching and assessment.

This includes the uptake, development and evaluation of learning technologies, resources and pedagogies to enhance teaching quality, and support student learning across Swinburne, in pursuit of the Swinburne 2025 Plan.


A key requirement of this role is to liaise extensively with teaching and professional staff in a range of areas across Swinburne University, including external stakeholders.

The incumbent will exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with teaching and professional and staff.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with LTU and teaching staff in the development of effective blended learning design, focusing on the teaching-learning process that occurs at lesson, unit and course levels
  • Advise and assist staff preparing and planning the development of learning and teaching resources, in conjunction with the Schools
  • Provide training and support for teaching staff in the use of the LMS and technologies for learning, teaching and assessment
  • Exercise considerable judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with professional and teaching staff
  • Support the design and implementation of the Academic Capabilities Framework
  • Support continuous improvement of Learning and Teaching across Swinburne

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree and/or extensive relevant experience in the areas of learning design and resource development
