Description of Role


As the Dexcom Territory Business Manager (TBM), you will report to the State Sales Manager in your respective state contributing the growth and success of the Diabetes Division.


The Dexcom TBM represents AMSL/Dexcom and is responsible for promoting Dexcom's Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) product range to stakeholders in both public and private sector within the diabetes healthcare area.

This may include but is not limited to the following:


  • To promote products by direct consumer liaison and promotion to healthcare professionals at all levels to ensure sales growth, excellence of service, support, and goodwill
  • To provide technical expertise and support to both Healthcare Professionals and Consumers regarding Dexcom's products
To offer support to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and consumers providing education and training at identified target centres including but not limited to:

  • Public Hospital Diabetes Education Units
  • Endocrinologists/Paediatricians/Physicians/General Practitioners in Private Practise
  • Private Diabetes Nurse Educators
  • Community Health Centres
  • Allied Healthcare Workers

Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties

  • Influence physicians, diabetes education nurses and other health care professionals to prescribe Dexcom products to their patients
  • Train health care professionals in how to use Dexcom products and integrate them into their diabetes practice
  • Deliver and maintain outstanding customer support to all customers
  • Represent Dexcom at local, regional, and national trade shows and diabetes exhibits to promote Dexcom products to the diabetes community
  • Partner with the Diabetes Territory Business Managers and other departments to facilitate territory sales growth
  • Implement Dexcom strategy and monitor progress towards sales goal achievement using Dexcom analytical tools
  • Responsible and accountable for meeting territory sales goals, as assigned
  • Ability to present strategies and adjust activities to achieve planned objectives
  • Provide tracking and project management for all key designated projects being implemented by the Diabetes Division Management Team
  • To effectively manage the territory with respect to cost effective travel, time and businessrelated expenditure
  • Complete all administrative requirements in a timely fashion as directed by management

Travel:


  • Extensive local travel required including overnight travel to current and potential clients' localities
  • Interstate travel will be required to attend conferences/meetings/events as directed by the management team

Functional/Business Knowledge

  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialisation; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
  • Demonstrates further technical development and a track record of project success
  • Demonstrates an ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Considered a specialist in the field within the function

Scope of role

  • Assists in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities to accomplish objectives
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Networks with senior internal and external colleagues in own area of expertise

Field Sales

  • A fully qualified, careeroriented position. Has complete knowledge of company products and services
  • Responsible for selling the company's products and/or services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts

Core Skills

  • Sales experience through having worked with a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical company
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills with the ability to engage all customers to create strong business relationships
  • Proven success in medical sales industry
  • Knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth
  • Effective communication skills to both listen and speak to all types of individuals
  • Business acumen to determine and enforce beneficial strategies to effectively manage key accounts
  • To be able to effectively train and educate others

Advanced Skills

  • Diabetes medical sales background
  • Strong Information Technology (IT) skills
  • Technical experience of working in a highly competitive sales field
