About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Production Superintendent the Maintainer Operator ensures the ongoing smooth operation at our 385 MW Swanbank E Gas-fired Power Station in Ipswich.
This key role will undertake general maintenance and operation of the plant and associated systems that help to meet electricity production requirements.
Acting in a dual capacity, the Maintainer Operators rotate between maintenance and the shift roster that will see you perform both maintenance and operational duties in a shift and workshop work environment.
The Maintainer Operators support these divisions by coordinating, planning, organising and directing operational and maintenance activities across the Swanbank Power Station site.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity for 36.25 hours per week averaged over a roster period, with shifts of 6.30am - 6.30pm, 6.30pm - 6.30am and afternoon shifts of 12pm - 12am.
About you:
- You are trade qualified (electrical or mechanical) and have ideally pursued further licences/tickets in areas such as Boiler Advanced and Turbine Operator High Risk Work Licence or some sort of advanced/post trade qualification i.e. Advanced diploma, Associate degree
- Current Boiler steam ticket is highly desirable.
- You bring experience in routine and breakdown maintenance within either a thermal or gas turbine power station as well as thermal or gas turbine operation experience.
- You are adaptable, responding to the changing work priorities in both a day work and shift work environment.
- You value initiative and show a high degree of enthusiasm and flexibility in your work, especially when under pressure.
- You are experienced in working in a multidisciplinary team and offer support and ask for help when required.
- You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.
