City Projects is a successful, motivated, multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for delivering Council's Capital Works program safely, on time, on budget and to a high standard of quality and environmental compliance.


About the Role


The primary purpose of this role is to provide project design and coordination services for Council's infrastructure projects allocated to the City Projects team to meet Operational Plan outcomes and objectives.


The role is responsible for undertaking project design delivery including project planning, feasibility assessment, brief development, detailed design and preparation of tender documentation for Council's projects and programs, of varying complexity, to deliver sustainable outcomes for the community.


  • Take responsibility for, and deliver the design of projects and programs as directed
  • Engage with stakeholders and external providers and consultants to develop quality solutions to the agreed project scope, budgets, timelines and deliverables
  • Investigate, analyse and prepare reports for projects, issues and risks as required
  • Implement and manage the approvals process for projects as required
  • Manage procurement and tender evaluation process for projects as required
  • Work with the construction team during construction, providing advice on design intent and delivery

About You


We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced professional with good communication and strong interpersonal skills to join our team and deliver quality design for community infrastructure.


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing design consultants
  • Working knowledge of design criteria and standards
  • Experience in documentation in AutoCAD, CivilCAD, Adobe suite
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Relevant qualifications or experience

Salary Range:
$82, $92,773.51 per annum plus 10.5% superannuation
