Technical Product Manager - Macquarie Park, Australia - MCS Consulting
Description
Interesting tech, leveraging data from distributed systems and cloud connected infrastructure- Join a motivated, established, and high performing team and help them with planning product strategy
- Mix of existing projects and greenfield build of a connected SaaS platform
Would the flexibility and freedom of a greenfield technical product reinvigorate you? One where you can work with a modern technology stack, where you can adopt the latest technologies and frameworks as you build intelligent information streaming and data visualisation solutions?
You'll be the first full-time hire in Product for this privately owned communications provider.
It means you'll have more control over the development process as you help them evolve, creating a intelligent monitoring and predictive maintenance platform from data capture through network analysis to analytics and visualisation.
You'll be freed up to work with the technically savvy GM as you create a new roadmap to help with taking their established products and future MVPs to the next level.
And this is just the beginning.
If you picture yourself building your own team to help execute your product strategy, you and the CEO share the same vision.
A bit more about the role...
You'll step into an industry that is traditionally not very technical and often short-staffed.
Customers are faced with long wait times and incomplete reporting which leads to costly maintenance and safety issues on deteriorating assets.
Your success will be tied to the company's success, you'll have equity in the business with several institutional investors committed to further rounds of investment off the back of the delivery of a successful MVP and iterations of future products.
What do you need?
You're deeply technical.
Your path into Technical Product Management was likely through software engineering (Golang, NodeJS, Embedded C, C++, Java,.NET etc) or electronics design and you've worked on connected devices that's utilised various communication protocols (e.g.
RabbitMQ, TCP/IP, ZeroMQ).Or perhaps you've spent time hands-on experience managing technical aspects of a product, working with engineers in the networking communications field.
You'll have a decent understanding of computer networking fundamentals (e.g. possess knowledge of OSI layer) and some awareness of different software architectures (e.g. N-Tier, Distributed Systems, Microservices, Event Driven etc).
Experience working on a networking or IoT based product that's integrated with connected platforms will give you an edge, but we're open to conversations with anyone that has operated in technical environments (knowledge of IoT or computer networking protocols is still expected though).
