Description
We have 5 exciting opportunities for those looking to kickstart their electrical career in 2024.
As an Apprentice Electrician you will perform technical work on electrical and data cabling systems under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson.
This is a 4-year apprenticeship that will require you to attend trade school in order to complete the off-the-job component of the Cert III in Electrotechnology.
Please note that this is an Electrical Apprenticeship with a strong focus on Data Communications.
Role overview
- Assist their onsite manager with installation, reading and interpreting drawings / specifications, programming, testing, and commissioning of various electrical and cabling systems across commercial building sites and premises
- Work with a team of Technicians, Tradesmen and Project Managers to successfully deliver electrical and communications projects in accordance with Company standards and to meet project timeframes.
- Follow relevant codes and industry standards which govern electrical installation and maintenance
- Demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining relationships with customers, colleagues, and managers of the Company
- Ensure the appropriate and timely use of equipment and phone / handheld device (where supplied)
- Effectively manage administrative requirements including call reports and time sheets.
- Attend call outs as per roster requirements.
- Demonstrate aptitude with electrical and mechanical tools
- Understand written information and instructions and correspond clearly and concisely
- Understand inventory stock components used in the process of work and ensure parts are correctly booked out to the task
- Other duties as directed by your supervisor
Requirements:
About you
- Year 12 (preferable)
- Preapprenticeship (Pre-App) AQF Certificate Level 2 in Electrotechnology
- Construction induction card (preferred)
- Current Australian driver's license (advantageous)
- Other qualifications as appropriate
- Some prior work experience in a trade or customer service role is beneficial but not mandatory
- Proficient in English and Mathematics
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Ability to do overtime and shift work when required
- Pass a national police and medical check
