The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our BlueScope Distribution National Lead Team as our
NSW State General Manager. BlueScope Distribution is a provider of single-source product, processing and service solutions in steel and aluminium.

The business supports customers in a variety of industries and works with them to help deliver projects on time and to specification.

Based in
Granville, oversee our NSW business that incorporates our Sydney metro site and regional branches in Albury and Newcastle.

Lead a cross-functional team of approximately 90 across sales, customer service and operations (manufacturing, warehousing and logistics).

What Will You Do?

optimise the state business plan and budget:develop, implement and oversee a commercially astute business plan, striving to exceed volume, margin and profit targets

foster an inclusive high-performing team:coach and motivate your team to enhance capability, performance and engagement levels

set business objectives and operating standards:establish and communicate clear objectives and work standards, monitoring and sharing progress with the team
-
facilitate future-focussed innovation: collaborate with your team and customers to identify and implement innovative service and product solutions, including developing business cases for capex and investment approval
-
enable transformation:establish ways of working and communication cadences that support engagement, understanding and adoption of change
-
achieve optimal safety and operational outcomes: ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to comply with relevant acts, legislations and business policies

About You

Steel experience is not a musthave._ We want to hear from leaders outside of our own industry. What will support your success is experience navigating numerous considerations across the supply and value chain, to determine the best course of action for your customers and business.

Supported by an extensive background in sales, we're seeking:

previous experience in a senior cross-functional management role

- demonstrated ability to develop and execute transformative business strategy
- a passion for building an environment of innovation and transformation
- demonstrated ability to lead and engage diverse teams through change
- excellent commercial acumen skills including P&L management experience
- a collaborative and authentic connected leadership style
