About the role


The Team Leader role is the pivotal link between the senior leadership team and the Access and Triage Team and is expected to provide high level operational leadership and ensure the service provides a high quality and accessible service.

The Team Leader works positively towards future developments from within Grampians Health and implementation of recommendations from the Mental Health Royal Commission.


This role provides operational oversight of the Access and Triage, Acute Response and ED Mental Health Clinicians within one team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily operational requirements
  • Provide leadership as part of GMHWS Leadership team
  • Provide high level clinical advice and direction in relation to day to day provision of triage, assessment and treatment services
  • Leading and supporting change

Skills and experience

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Substantial mental health clinical experience in a range of settings and across the lifespan
  • Passion and commitment to delivering accessible, compassionate, personcentred and recoveryfocused services

This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement. The classification is Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 5 (NP51) which is $61.42 per hour


All employees must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required, which at a minimum is a surgical mask.

Additional PPE requirements are role-dependent.
