THE ROLE - based in our office Cheltenham, Melbourne


This position will be responsible for contracting North America supplier services (hotels, meals, attractions, DMCs etc), managing costs, and product development across the APT and Travelmarvel brands.

The Procurement and Procurement Development (person) will work to deliver commercially sound outcomes for the business while supporting service delivery goals and establishing key relationships with all stakeholders.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiating North American supplier services including hotels, attractions, meals, trains & DMC's
  • Drafting and reviewing all supplier contracts in line with our terms (including payment terms, hand backs, marketing, famil support etc)
  • Establish long term, productive and sustainable relationships with all suppliers in line with company procurement objectives
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed service and quality deliverables which will involve working closely with the Operations and Product Teams.
  • Engage in a continual process of market analysis to ensure all brands have the most competitive rates and conditions for all product components while meeting margin objectives.
  • Provide the Product team rates for inclusion in their annual tour budgets, as well as in line with the Commercial deadlines within prescribed time limits
  • Complete documentation of rate to be shared to with stakeholders
  • Collect and review Certificates of Insurance.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs and other events
  • Assist Finance and Accounts Payable with invoice discrepancies and work with suppliers to ensure correct invoicing
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven outstanding negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of suppliers in Canadian & USA tourism market
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate market activity
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
