    Description

    Your Role:

    As part of our team at Jacobs in Brisbane, AU, you will be the Lead Rolling Stock Engineer - Rail, responsible for developing specifications and designs for electrical and software-based systems on rail platforms. Your role will also involve ensuring the proper integration of rolling stock within transport systems and providing mechanical engineering advisory services to rail clients.

    • Develop specifications, designs, and tests for electrical and software-based systems on light and heavy rail Rolling Stock platforms.
    • Review and check circuit and system performance against specifications.
    • Lead the development of tender documents, specifications, test plans, and mechanical installation designs.
    • Provide senior mechanical engineering advisory services for clients across light and heavy rail networks.
    • Contribute to the development of enabling infrastructure for Rolling Stock mechanical systems.

    Requirements:

    • Tertiary qualifications with experience in delivering large-sized and medium-risk Rolling Stock projects.
    • Demonstrated senior experience in specifying, designing, or testing Rolling Stock Mechanical systems.
    • Working knowledge of industry standards and the ability to anticipate industry trends.
    • Proficiency in CAD packages for mechanical system analysis and calculations.
    • Awareness of mechanical design, manufacture, and safety obligations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
