About the role
Our General Workshop is looking for numerous Boilermakers to join the team due to a strong work forecast.

In this role, you will assist the New Machines and Rebuilds teams in the workshop in meeting CAT quality standards.


The successful applicant will pride themselves on an exceptional quality of work with a strong customer focus in everything they do.

You will join a high-performing team that ensures customer satisfaction, efficiency, safety, workshop housekeeping, and job quality. You will champion our SPARC values of safety, pride, accountability, respect, and customer.


What we're looking for

  • Cert III in Engineering
  • Fabrication (Australian Trade recognised)
  • MIG and sub arc welding experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Safety focused mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to work to a quality standard and move between machine rebuilds and new machine builds as required
  • Experience in mobile plant repairs will be highly desired
  • Extensive experience in OXY /Thermal processes: cutting, heating, thermal Lancing
  • Able to read, interpret and manufacture from engineering drawings

Roster & Remuneration

Option 1:
Monday - Friday (rotating days/nights)
Roster Pattern: 2 weeks of days, followed by 2 weeks of nights


Day shift:

  • Hourly Rate: $48.18 OT: $72.27 (paid when you clock over 50hrs e.g. 4x 12 hours shifts Mon-Thurs, you would click in to OT after your first 2 hours on the Friday)
  • Annual: $125,268 (before super) $138,421 (with super)

Option 2:
Lifestyle Roster (15/28)

- working only half the year

  • Roster Pattern: Complete your nights in 1 swing, every 3 weeks 12hour shifts,

  • Hourly Rate: $48.18 OT Rate: $72.27 (paid on any hours worked outside your rostered shifts)
  • Annual: $112,741 (before super) $124,579 (with super)
