The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the Departments' digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the Department including Victorian government schools.

The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.

IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

About the opportunity

This is an ongoing opportunity to join the Information Security team within IMTD reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer.

The Security Risk and Compliance Manager role aligns to the department's enterprise security strategy by leading activities to oversee the function of cyber risk management & compliance to ensure effective risk management practices are in place and being followed that enable the secure delivery of IMTD's strategic and operational plans that leads to improved learning and development outcomes.

It will provide a range of services that identify, quantify, and reduce risks to the security of information.

These services include driving and leading security risk and threat assessment processes, managing compliance assessments, supply chain risk, security policy development, and procurement support.

About you

  • At least 3 years' experience at senior level in technology risk, security or compliance.
  • Experience formulating Security Risk Profile Assessments and preparing Protective Data Security Plans along with biennial attestations in accordance with the requirements set out by OVIC.
  • Experience identifying and working with key risk indicators to report performance of risk management activities against risk appetite.
  • Empowers others by investing them with the authority and latitude to accomplish tasks.
