Underground Diamond Drill Supervisors to join the Barminco team at our Cowal Diamond Drill Operations. Reporting to the Diamond Drill area manager you will be required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of drill crews in the day-to-day operations.

Key Requirements

Must have at least 5 years' underground diamond drilling operations experience
Cert I, II, III and IV in Drill Operations is preferable
Cert IV in Training and Assessing is preferable
All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's)
Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Driver's Licence)
Competent in computer systems used for safety and health reporting (INX, HSE central or similar)

Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance with all HS&E policies, procedures and instructions and leading a team in following the same. This includes the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment;
Prompt reporting of any Incidents and hazardous situations as per industry best practice standards. The ability to make the necessary changes to eliminate or control the hazard and reporting immediately any accident or injury which arises during their work;
Ensure all KPI's are met and all prestarts, SWIC's, SLI's and FRM's are completed in due time;
To receive and follow directives from the client & direct reports, communicating drill plans, as per client's instruction, to drill crews and ensuring clean drill core samples marked to client's requirements are delivered. Furthermore, carrying out inspections on drill rigs on a weekly basis noting any improvements that can be made to improve safety and productivity;
Carries out crew training, (theory and practical assessments as required) to all workers on shift and reviews each employee's development, mentoring and motivating employees as appropriate;
Manage breakdowns and setup of drill rigs;
Day to day allocation of resources to meet the safety and productivity goals.
