About the Opportunity

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are recruiting for Health and Security Assistants to complement and enhance the current Security and Patient Services Department.

Supporting the care delivery team is at the heart of the HASA role


You will provide:

  • Support to the nursing team in the Emergency Department in the delivery of patient care, under the guidance of nursing staff.
  • General assistance in the ward environment, conducting patient transfers around the facility.
  • Undertake security related duties.

What you'll be doing

The Health and Security Assistant (HASA) role works as part of a team, in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients and to provide a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors.

HASA are also required to assist clinical staff in the care and comfort of patients, and securing the assets of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Participation in a 7 day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, afternoon and night shifts.
  • Understanding and willingness to work in a morgue environment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy at a data entry level as well as ability to operate electronic security systems.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff, as well as patients/clients and members of the public.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to comply with work health and safety principles, including safe manual handling and infection control.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in taking directions from supervisors and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
