A brief look at the JOB


Reporting to the National Transport and Logistics Manager, and as one of the main custodians of all freight pricing for company operations, you'll be safeguarding accurate storage and ongoing cost updates to SAP for all things domestic and international freight-related (air/road/rail/shipping) ensuring functional support of the SAP interface with users to guarantee the selection of best cost outcomes when allocating freight suppliers.


The main objective of the role is to perform ongoing cost updates to pricing by evaluating processes and annual rate reviews, monitoring, and assessing common operator submissions for increased rate adjustments, fuel levies and CPI increases whilst delivering the desired outcomes.


This includes but is not limited to:

  • Ensure current freight rate tables and accuracy of the information in the freight management system (SAP/BSM)
  • Maintain rate tables and master data in 3rd party TMS systems and SAP to support automatic rating/accrual of SAP transactions.
  • Support the interface between SAP users and ensure cost best practices to the business
  • Assist with Transport Costing to support customer contracts.
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of RFP's and review of service level agreements of contracted carriers.
  • Develop/maintain dashboards and scorecards to allow review of freight vendor performance and costs/freight recovery analysis for all modes of transport both domestic and international
  • Certificate or Diploma in supply chain, logistics or similar substantial industry experience.
  • Knowledge of inbound / outbound domestic & international freight arrangements
  • Ability to read, comprehend and summarise policy documents
  • Proficient user or experience in the use of SAP (S4 HANA)
  • Proficient user of MS Office suite of tools to build reports and present information
  • Communicate effectively with others the ability to work as part of a team and have a commitment to being a team player.
