Position Information:

Turramurra High School (1070 students, including 38% from a non-English speaking background), is a comprehensive, coeducational high school. The school promotes a culture across the whole school community that fosters creativity, collaboration, communication and critical reflection.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,


Highly visible, approachable and engaging leader with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills who has demonstrated experience in developing and embedding policies, procedures and practices that maximise support for student learning and wellbeing.


Proven ability to harness resources within the school and to build and strengthen authentic relationships with students, staff and parents, as well as partnerships fostered with external agencies, to enhance wellbeing and student support.


Demonstrated capacity to lead the development of the Wellbeing team to provide genuine interventions which foster student engagement and improve student outcomes.


Demonstrated capacity to work as a dynamic member of the school executive team in leading initiatives that address whole school strategic directions and system negotiated targets.


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
