Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn preanalytical and postanalytical clinical laboratory tasks. Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
Strong attention to detail, ability to focus in a busy, complex environment.
Highly developed customer focus with experience dealing with a variety of people and a highlevel of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience.
Understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
Demonstrated high level skills, or ability to rapidly acquire in the use of AUSLAB and ieMR with intermediate keyboarding skills particularly for data entry.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification.
Ability to work additional shifts to support planned and unplanned leave within the team.
Proven ability to manage time effectively in a highly process driven environment with competing priorities.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology (Laboratory Assistance) or equivalent would be well regarded
May be required to participate in 24hour shift and weekend roster arrangements.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements

It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
