About the
role


We are looking for a
Manager, Strategy & Performance to lead the corporate strategy, planning, performance and continuous improvement function for NSW Fair Trading.


Deliver high-quality strategic plans, reporting frameworks, and analyse the data to monitor NSW Fair Trading's performance and use these insights to drive continuous improvement across the regulator.

Design, develop and implement the NSW Fair Trading Strategic Plans to support the achievement of the NSW Fair Trading objectives by driving best practice strategy development and performance evaluation to support the achievement of business objective


About you
We are looking for an outcomes-focused, lateral thinker, who has a passion for developing strategic solutions to complex problems.

You can analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, insights, and emerging opportunities or risks.

You translate your analysis and insights into clear deliverables by effectively and appropriately communicating with senior leaders.

Experienced in developing strategic plans with reporting frameworks and monitoring/evaluating performance to drive data driven regulation and decision making.


You have strong business planning, performance, monitoring and insights experience and thrive in a culture of delivery to drive business improvements across an organisation based on sound strategy, insights and reporting.


You have excellent written communication skills across a variety of mediums to convey outcomes to leaders, staff, and the NSW community.


You are an experienced people leader who can motivate a team to deliver their best work in a supportive environment.


A background in strategy consulting or related field, and strong capability in utilising PowerPoint and PowerBi (or equivalent data visualisation tools) would be highly regarded.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in strategic business planning, reporting, and performance monitoring within a complex organisation (either public or private sector).-
  • Capacity to quickly develop a sound knowledge and understanding of NSW Fair Trading.-
  • Demonstrated capability in utilising interactive data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI) and PowerPoint to support and inform strategic decision-making.-
  • Experience communicating effectively with senior leaders.-
  • Excellent people management skills with the capacity to manage complex and sensitive issues.-
  • Passion for consumer protection ensuring that the NSW community can buy, sell and rent with confidence.
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $139787 base plus superannuation
