Position Information:


Sadleir Public School is a P-6 situated on Darug land in south western Sydney and is part of the Liverpool network of schools.

The school provides high quality educational programs for the current enrolment of 365 students including 32 students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and 82% of whom have a language background other than English.

Arabic is the largest language group.

The school has a FOEI of 179 and caters for diverse needs across 14 mainstream classes, 4 support unit classes for students with Autism and/or intellectual disabilities and a DOE preschool.

Staff are highly collaborative and committed to maximising wellbeing and academic outcomes for all students. Attainment and Growth, Rich Curriculum and Wellbeing for Success are the strategic directions in the current School Improvement Plan. Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

  • Strategic leadership and management skills to work with the school's executive to ensure successful development and implementation of whole school strategic initiatives, effective administrative processes and daytoday school operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to harness and increase the collective capacity of school staff to achieve and sustain ongoing improvement in student outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of, and ability to lead a learning and wellbeing culture that caters for the specific needs of learners from diverse cultures, Aboriginal communities, students with specific learning needs and students from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a culture of inclusion, support and authentic connections with parents, staff and the wider community

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
