The Role:

***The Principal Events Officer reports to the Manager, Marketing and Events and is responsible for providing support on the successful development and implementation of strategic projects and event activities for Invest SA.


The Principal Events Officer will develop a strategic external engagement focus and support the leveraging of all group activities for the benefit of the agency.


The Principal Events Officer will work across government agencies and non-government bodies, on projects which contribute to the achievement of agency's strategic program of investment activities, objectives and outcomes.


About You:

***To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
  • Significant experience in planning, initiating and managing engagement and communications projects, including developing engagement plans, implementing and evaluating major events engagement programs, strategies and events to effectively communicate with and engage a range of audiences.
  • Exercise a high level of judgement, determine goals and priorities and operate under broad direction.
  • Knowledge of events management media platforms, networks and practices, particularly in relation to the government context.
  • Proven experience in developing positive relationships with the key stakeholders, other public and private sector organisations, suppliers and the business community, including providing authoritative advice on events engagement and communications matters.

Desirable Qualification:

***Tertiary qualifications in event management, marketing, communications and/or engagement


Special Conditions
***Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.


Remuneration:

***ASO7 - $106,512 min - $115,137 max
