The Opportunity
We are actively searching for a dynamic and strategic individual to take on the role of Product Development Manager.

This position will spearhead the development and execution of the strategic product plan for Small Grains, Cotton, and Sugar production systems in Australia and New Zealand.


Role Purpose:


As the Product Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the strategic product plan for Small Grains, Cotton and Sugar production systems in Australia and New Zealand.

You'll be required to conduct market research and analysis and translate customer requirements into product definition and business plans. You'll develop the business case to support new product development that results in long term business opportunities.

You'll manage the overall strategic product plan for each Production System and serve as a link between customer needs and product development.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Gathers, interprets, and integrates data from market research, competitive intelligence, industry associations, customer focus groups and sales reports and translates them into future product definition.
  • Facilitates local product planning activities regarding forecasts and resulting financial/budget implications.
  • Manages local product development priorities, creates product business plans and works with product development to ensure product designs meet customer requirements.
  • Participates in Product Development Process for new products to ensure that customer requirements are included and facilitates crossfunctional teams as necessary to achieve results.
  • Responsible for testing and validating potential production system solutions with dealers, industry, and customers to ensure it meets local market requirements.
  • Manages projects with local 3rd party partners including coordination and establishment of required nondisclosure agreements and contracts.
  • Organises and executes the elements of the strategic marketing plan for a product, developing marketing plans that help to achieve results.
  • Interacts and communicates with Product Managers and other senior managers on market information, research, competitive activities and industry data.
  • Contributes to the development of content and training materials for new product introductions, marketing information, promotion materials, and training.

  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in strategic product management within the agriculture industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective business plans.
  • Experience in a broad range of marketing and sales functions, particularly in channel management.
  • Broad background in business, encompassing marketing, design, manufacturing, and engineering perspectives.
  • Skill in prioritization methods to efficiently manage tasks.
  • Clear and accurate interpretation of customer needs to inform decisionmaking.

Education / Experience:
