The Role:

Join Thales Australia's dynamic team as a strategic leader in our Above Water Systems (AWS) business portfolio.

We are a premier provider of defence, security, and civil solutions globally, offering ship repair, maintenance, and asset management services for both commercial and naval ships.

As a pivotal figure, and based in Garden Island, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery that meets schedule, quality, cost, and safety standards.


Your role involves:

  • Providing strategic direction for maintenance delivery services to achieve exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and service excellence.
  • Mentoring and managing assembled teams for peak performance.
  • Spearheading maintenance execution and certification.
  • Ensuring safety, cost, time, and quality objectives are met.
  • Establishing the functional delivery of maintenance execution services.
  • Leading teams to guarantee safety, schedule, quality, security, and cost adherence.
  • Identifying and mitigating cost drivers to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders on financial analysis for accurate forecasts.
  • Reporting scheduling, planning risks, and offering solutions.
  • Contributing to status reports, estimates, and variance analysis.
  • Driving continuous improvement in Maintenance Delivery.

About You:


  • Suitable trade or engineering training and experience.
  • Advanced Diploma in Project Management.
  • Seven years in relevant industries, showcasing planning, production, and organizational skills.
  • Managing teams to meet schedule imperatives.
  • Familiarity with contracted requirements, functional specifications, technical standards.
  • Proficiency in ship building, repair, maintenance, and Navy ship systems.
  • Understanding of Navy engineering and maintenance systems is desirable
  • Familiarity with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSwMS).
  • Knowledge of platform, maritime, and asset management.
