The Role
Commercial Division is seeking to fill multiple APS4 Contracting Officer positions within the Division.
As a Contracting Officer you will be required to gain an understanding of relevant procurement and contracting Defence framework including legislative government decision-making in support of delivering Defence capability.
You will be required to:
- Investigate, analyse and provide timely quality procurement and contracting advice to stakeholders.
- Administer and organise your own workflow, making decisions within defined parameters relating to your work area of responsibility and work under limited guidance.
- Communicate with a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve outcomes.
- Work collaboratively within a team and be accountable to contribute towards ongoing selfimprovement and professional development.
- Share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop standard operating procedures.
The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace.
It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence.
