About the role

The role of the Youth Consumer Peer Worker has been developed for young people who have a lived experience of child and youth mental health services and personal recovery.

The international evidence demonstrates that embedding a peer support workforce within a mental health service has a number of benefits to a consumer's recovery.

Peers Workers use their personal journey to support consumers by providing individual peer support, facilitating recovery principles of hope, choice, self-determination and social connectedness.

The Youth Consumer Peer Worker works collaboratively with clinicians and is an integral part of the clinical team, and also liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the consumer.

About you

Do you have a lived experience as a consumer that has been engaged with a CAMHS/CYMHS service and would like to provided your own lived experience voice ?

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.

An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
