About the opportunity


The Australia Post property portfolio is both large and complex, incorporating 1,342 expenditure leases, 221 revenue leases, and 410 freehold sites.

There are 78 heritage-listed sites with obligations for them to be maintained and preserve their value well into the future.

The total annual budget for Group Property is in excess of $530m with gross lease costs being $259m.


Reporting to 'Finance Manager, Group Property', you will partner with the Group Property Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other senior internal stakeholders in the management of Australia Post's Property portfolio.

The focus of the role is to support the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) function including leasing, sub-tenant revenues, IFRS16 accounting, and outgoings.


You'll also

  • Manages monthend planning and forecasting deliverables as well as a key governance role
  • Support the Retail Modernisation strategy and act as the SME on all Property matters
  • Work with key stakeholders to drive savings across the property portfolio
  • Have a great understanding of AP's Post26 Strategy and how the Property impacts are managed

About you

  • Minimum 7 years of financial advisory and/or financial control/accounting experience, preferably with exposure to the property industry
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in finance and /or accounting or related discipline
  • Working towards completing the Professional qualification or Membership of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, or equivalent
  • Proven success in finance, planning and analysis roles and/or finance business partnering roles, particularly supporting multiple senior stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in management accounting
