About the team
The Indigenous Procurement and Engagement Team sits in CommBank's Financial Services (FS) Business Unit.

We support our FS Indigenous staff, work with and empower the local Redfern and Waterloo community organisations and drive the Bank's Indigenous procurement initiatives.

This role is based in Gadigal/Sydney and will be part of the Group Corporate Services, Environmental and Social Team. The Environmental and Social Team is accountable for
- improving the environmental outcomes for the Group's own emissions,
- our approach to Modern Slavery in our supply chains,
- supplier diversity (including Indigenous Procurement), and

  • FS Indigenous programs.

Do work that matters:


The Manager, Indigenous Engagement and Development will:

  • Have accountability to ensure FS meets our Indigenous employee goals
  • Support the wellbeing of Indigenous CommBank employees through an inhouse support program, career development and ensuring Indigenous employees are part of a CommBank Indigenous community
  • Support people managers to build their cultural competency and support their Indigenous employees appropriately
  • Offer sound advice with both a strategic and community perspective
  • Look for opportunities to develop our careers programs to attract new talent
  • Work with Redfern and Waterloo Aboriginal communities to support their services
  • Work with CommBank's Indigenous Affairs team to support National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC week in FS

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Demonstrated success in delivering strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait communities, society and culture
  • Strong relationship building skills including Indigenous community engagement experience
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management and implementation skills
  • Governance experience including facilitating and contributing to working groups
  • Highly developed communication skills, specifically in active listening, influencing and presenting.
