Detailed job description:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out Overhauls and Repairs on a range of OEM equipment for the rail industry (Transmissions, Final drives, Couplers).
  • Perform non trade incidental tasks related to production.
  • Follow detailed Engineering instructions to perform works to OEM standards.
  • Perform testing of manufactured items as and when required in line with company procedures and standards.
  • Ensure that all checks and tests are carried out in accordance with company quality control standards.
  • Perform Machining as required for standard and nonstandard production.
  • Maintain tools & equipment in a clean safe operating condition
  • Provide input to continually develop improvements to existing workshop procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Workshop supervisor and other team members to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Ensure familiarity with and comply with all engineering procedures, operating instructions and Quality Assurance requirements.

  • Trades qualification as Fitter & Turner
  • Available Monday-Friday to work shifts & overtime
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Physically fit for the demands of a mechanical fitter role
  • Good understanding of & compliance with OHS in the workplace
  • Fast learner with a great can do attitude a must
