About the Role


The Receptionist provides general administrative support within the aged care facility under the direct supervision of the Residential Care and Services Manager.

This position is the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the facility.


The Receptionist will adopt a positive, efficient, and caring approach to staff, consumers, families, contractors, volunteers, and visitors of all types.

The main purpose of this role is to undertake reception and office administration tasks allocated by the facility Office Manager.

Key Duties


The tasks include but are not limited to the following:
Telephone reception including the taking of and distribution of messages


Front office reception including the taking of and distribution of messages; greeting of visitors in a friendly, warm, welcoming manner; accepting deliveries.

Receiving and sending of faxes

Processing and sorting of all incoming and outgoing mail

Simple word processing and data entry, photocopying, preparation of meeting agenda and minutes

Maintenance of office supplies and office equipment

Petty cash and banking

Limited liaison with Head Office, suppliers, staff, residents and families.

Report disrespectful or unkind behaviour displayed towards consumers, staff, volunteers and contractors directly to your supervisor

About You


You are passionate about utilising your administration skills in an industry that cares and values the wellbeing of the vulnerable.

Solution focused and wanting to make a difference, you align your approach to strategize for achieving organisational and divisional goals.

You are an employee that instils trust in your clients by demonstrating compassion and diligence.

Working as part of the facilities team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions.


Ideally you will bring the following:

A demonstrated heartfelt desire to work with older people, to respect their lives with a deep capability to connect and support consumers to live a life they choose.

Proven competence in a similar role

Certificate II or III in Business Administration (desirable but not essential)

Computer literacy (Microsoft Word & Excel)

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & interpersonal).

Able to build positive relationships.

Able to take direction, and outcome focused
